Clinic Manager
Responsible for overall operation and effectiveness of clinic operations to ensure patient care consistent with the organization's mission and vision. Monitor that continuous, quality, accurate, timely and cost effective services are provided. Coordinate and supervise clinic staffing needs. Function as department director for clinic employees.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate and evaluate ongoing patient oriented projects.
  • Resolve problems to address patient complaints, be sensitive to customer needs while promoting excellent customer service and ensuring completion of patient visit through the payment process.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation to ensure compliance with medical regulations, laws and standards of quality patient care.
  • Provide back-up or fill-in support for all non-provider clinical personnel as needed.
  • Coordinate and monitor work schedules, paid time off requests, staff development, performance evaluations at least annually, and implement disciplinary actions/termination as needed.
  • Set a positive example and use a professional approach to analyze and resolve staff challenges while motivating staff to reach clinic goals with open and honest communication.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings - include personnel as needed for updates, clarification and communication to enhance and maintain the clinic's function as a viable department
  • Develop effective relationships and communication channels with and between all District departments to achieve organizational mission and vision and department collaboration.
  • Effectively communicate with maintenance staff to ensure the Family Medical Center building and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Meet weekly with clinical leadership team to discuss and report information as well as ensure decisions for the clinic and staff are in line with District goals.
  • Maintain ongoing and open communication with the Hospital/Clinic Leadership regarding clinic operations.
  • Review charges generated by providers to ensure accuracy.
  • Establish and update clinic policies and procedures in accordance with policies and procedures, standard practices of the profession and related local, state and federal laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Education beyond high school or experience is preferred.

  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Good eye sight and hearing is required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Strong clinical experience, unencumbered RN or LPN license or previous management experience preferred.
  • Three to five years of healthcare and/or management experience preferred.
  • Team oriented management style, positive attitude, organized, patient and community minded, good listener, process and objectively implement information, think outside the box.

Clinic Medical Assistant

is seeking a talented, Medical Assistant that is passionately commitment to clinical excellence.
We are a community supported 25-bed Critical Access Facility located in beautiful Northeastern Colorado
 
The Clinic Medical Assistant assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of the clinical staff, according to established procedures, by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties

  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
  • Administers medications and completes and/or assists with procedures and examinations as instructed and under the direct supervision of the medical staff.
  • Maintains patient record as instructed and assure legibility and confidentiality.
  • Orient, train and instruct other nursing personnel as requested.
  • Assures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment.
  • Operates x-ray, electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
  • Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meeting and workshops.
  • Maintains established clinical policies and procedures and adhere to safety, environmental and infection control.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MT/MLT
This position is responsible for a high level of technical knowledge and application of that knowledge to department testing, clinical relevance and complex problem solving skills by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs routine tests in medical laboratory to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
  • Conducts quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid, under supervision of Director of Laboratory Services.
  • Performs blood counts.
  • Conducts blood tests for transfusion purposes.
  • Draws blood from patient's finger, ear lobe, or vein, observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples.
  • Serves as a department resource, and is responsible for assisting with department compliance with all pertinent laboratory accrediting agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures quality results through the use and evaluation of control materials, proper instrument maintenance, and collection and analysis of appropriate samples.
  • Recognizes abnormal results or unusual circumstances and takes appropriate actions. Utilizes available resources to maintain and fix instruments and assist other laboratory personnel in resolving issues.
  • Maintains appropriate accreditation as required by regulatory agencies. Provides input into developing new methods and instruments. Maintains current knowledge and skills applicable to job assignment through continuing education or professional organizations.
  • Orders and maintains inventory of testing supplies in designated area.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Haxtun Hospital District is seeking experienced Registered Nurses.  New graduates will be considered for our nurse mentor program.  Typical shifts are 12 hours, leaving a flexible workweek and generous time off.

Candidate should enjoy providing nursing care in an environment where an RN can rotate throughout the
facility (ambulatory care, emergency room, acute care, specialty clinics, etc.).  We offer an exceptional
patient/nurse ratio with a ‘shared governance’ model.  We are on the move and want nurses onboard who
wish to provide exceptional quality care with leadership support.  The nurse who applies for this position (s) should expect to be involved in decision-making about patient quality care, serve on committees, be engaged
in elevating nursing practice further and be part of a collaborative team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervises and evaluates Licensed Practical Nurses and Nurse Aides to accomplish quality care.
  • Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay
    apprehension and documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques
    and maintains appropriate narcotic controls and logs.
  • Prepares equipment and aids Licensed Independent Providers (e.g. Physician, Nurse Practitioners)
    during treatment and examination of patient.
  • Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of
    patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
  • Provides for and evaluates temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations
    from normal and assess condition of patient.
  • Rotates among various clinical services of institution such as medical, emergency, geriatrics, endoscopy
    procedures, skilled and intermediate, outpatient and admitting, pediatrics, and psychiatry.

or technical school considered; 2-4 years experience preferred, however will consider new graduates in our
nurse mentor program.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Colorado State Registered Nurse (RN) certification or compact state license that allows practice in
    Colorado.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Providers (CPR & AED) certification.
  • Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required at hire or within first 30 days of
    employment.

PREFERRED:

  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification a plus, but not required.
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
