InstyMeds

1. What is InstyMeds?  InstyMeds is a fully automated, ATM-style system that dispenses acute medications directly to patients at the point-of-care.  InstyMeds is the safest, most efficient physician dispensing system out there and has the track record to prove it.

2. Why is InstyMeds the best physician dispensing system?  InstyMeds provides all the benefits of physician dispensing without the inherent risk and extra effort required by manual dispensing systems.  It's the only system that handles all the tasks involved in providing patients with their medications at the point-of-care, including a triple bar code check system to ensure accuracy.

3. How does InstyMeds work? After the patient sees the provider, a prescription order is issued by the doctor.  The provider prints an InstyMeds order and patient drug education material for the patient..  The patient takes the InstyMeds order to the InstyMeds dispenser and uses the touch-screen to enter in the order's security code along with their birthday.  If the patient has insurance, the claim will be processed by the InstyMeds Call Center and the cost or insurance co-pay is calculated.  The patient inserts their credit card or debit card to cover any costs.  The InstyMeds dispenser uses a triple barcode check system to ensure accuracy, labels the medication, and dispenses the prescription directly to the patient - all within 5 minutes.  The patient takes their medication and receipt, and is on their way.

4. Is it safe?  InstyMeds dispenses with 100% accuracy through the revolutionary triple bar code check system.  When the patient enters their unique 7-digit code found on the InstyMeds order along with their birthday, the InstyMeds system starts the dispensing process.  If at any time a bar code check fails due to a smudged or incorrect barcode, the system drops that medication into the discard bin and restarts the retrieval process.

5. Are prescription refills available with InstyMeds?  InstyMeds is designed to dispense the first-fill of acute care medications to the patient at the point-of-care.  If a refill has been authorized by the prescriber, the patient will simply take their InstyMeds container to any retail pharmacy to receive the remaining refills, as needed.
